FAQs for middle school athletes:

  • WHY WE ATTENDED OPEN HOUSE: We are looking to recruit future boys and girls tennis players. We’re looking for boys and girls who may want to play tennis in high school who want to start learning now.

  • NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE NEEDED: We will teach them everything they need to know. Almost every player we work with starts with little to no tennis knowledge and experience.

  • NO RACKET REQUIRED: I have rackets! Don’t let that stop you from coming out. In fact, I encourage players to use my rackets until they actually want to buy one. Some players use my rackets during their entire four-year career.

  • WHEN CAN THEY START?: Pretty much right away. Any middle school girls who want to attend HS practice can do so (see our website or SportsYou for practice schedule). All middle school boys and girls can attend any of our open court sessions after the season in October or during the summer.

  • HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?: It costs nothing to start learning. We don’t charge for lessons. If parents want more individualized attention for their athlete, we can discuss lessons at a cost, but we generally want to make it free so we get the maximum participation.

  • IS THERE A MIDDLE SCHOOL TENNIS TEAM: Not yet. If we can eventually get a consistent interest in tennis in the middle school, we may be able to have at least a club team in the future. So the more people who are interested, the better the chance that could happen.

  • WHERE CAN I GET MORE INFORMATION?: We have some printed information here at the table. You can also scan the QR code to go to our website.
